Don’t be deceived

THURSDAY 13TH FEBRUARY, 2020

Revelation 12:9

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Deception is one of the job description of the devil. To D deceive is to make you accept something as true that is false. The enemy sponsors deception primarily to make you disdain and doubt God’s word. There is a reality that is beyond the reach of your five senses and it can only be found in the word of God. Faith in what God has said is the only way to connect to that reality. The Bible calls that reality truth. To know the truth in any matter, God has given us the spirit of truth to guide us into all truth (see John 16:13). Truth is the opposite of deception. The logic and persuasive nature of a deceptive information can never make it true.

Deception flourishes in discouraging moments. There is something bigger and better than the discouraging thoughts and feelings the devil stirs up in your heart relentlessly about your future. Take a cue from the woman that was bleeding for 12 years. Her history of disappointments obscured the truth about her future. She connected to her future with faith-filled words. That way she ruled over her feeling of discouragement and established the image of her desired outcome in her heart (see Matthew 9:20-22). So the fear that things will not change for your life because of your history of discouragement is a big deception. Be persuaded about God’s promise to do a new thing in your life. He will cause massive changes in any unproductive aspects of your life.

PRAYER: I overturn every deception argument that has become a snare in my soul. The snare is broken and my soul has escaped in Jesus name.

PONDER: 2 Timothy 3:13-14
